Virtually Attending MIX ‘07 Keynote

I’ve been listening to the MIX ‘07 keynote this morning. I started by watching the keynote itself, but then Scoble twittered that he was broadcasting live video from the bloggers peanut gallery, so I switched over there. MUCH more interesting.

I’m somewhat of a fan of Don MacAskill and Dave Winer, who are hanging out w/ Scoble and some Microsoft guys upstairs, and it’s great to be able to get their initial thoughts on this stuff.

David Heinemeier Hansson: “Don’t be a hero.”

In other words, stop being so afraid of calling it quits. You’re playing to win the full season, not a single game. Every time you play the hero card, you’re jeopardizing the next game. Heroics are for when you have no other choice. When you can afford to take on tremendous risk because there’s no alternative.
